Welcome to waiyu.org, a free service hosted by the
Open Systems Laboratory
at Indiana University. Waiyu takes its name from the
Chinese
,
which means ``foreign language''. You will find
here useful tools for reading and writing
CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) languages.
So far, servers are available for Simplified Chinese (GB), Traditional Chinese (BIG5), and Japanese. Of these, the Simplified Chinese server is the most developed.

There is a mailing list for users of the waiyu.org servers and software. When the software is a bit more mature, the development mailing list will be open for business. The software is written and maintained by Todd Veldhuizen.
The servers use CEDICT, WordNet, and the libtabe tsi.src lexicon.
